Basic Classes

Classes exist in broad categories: Basic classes, advanced classes, and expert classes.

When creating your character, you will be limited to one of the basic classes until you get some experience under your belt. As your character levels up and gets stronger, more options become available to you in the form of advanced and expert classes. You’ll need to take certain abilities, have access to certain tiers of magic, and meet other requirements to unlock these classes. There also might be item and equipment requirements to qualify for these powerful classes — the Chosen of Vahaliat may need to seek out the legendary Rat Tail and present it to the Dragongod’s devout to unlock the epic class.

You are limited to taking four class levels in any of the basic classes. Additionally, some advanced classes and all expert classes have fewer levels available to them than the full career an adventurer or hero might entail. Your character will be required to branch out if they want to continue growing in strength.

Class Details
Warrior Basic fighter class. Focuses on melee or ranged attacks and defensive techniques to fight on the front lines of any battle.
Rogue Basic attacker class. Utilizes practical tactics to gain the upper hand and evade damage in combat.
Mage Basic spellcaster class. Uses Arcane or Eldritch magic to destroy and control opponents.
Priest Basic support class. Uses Draconic or Wild magic to attack foes and defend allies.

Even within these basic classes, there are choices to be made that will impact your career after you’ve left them behind. Classes allow you to qualify for and choose powerful abilities that focus your character’s powers in and out of battle.
